I am happy to announce the results of the second Daily Bread contest. And first of all, I’d like to thank each participant of the contest for enriching it with your poems. I am amazed at how many talented poets took part in the contest!

The Shortlist

First, here’s the shortlist of 10 nominees:

Every shortlist member who included their Bitshares address will receive 100 DBREAD tokens. Keep them as they may have value in the future when Whaleshares network is launched.

There is also a special prize from @ash for shortlist members with a special mention — 33 LITT tokens for each. To use them as vote tokens, visit whaleshares.net.

The Winners!

And now the most intriguing part of the contest. I had to choose only one winner out of all participants. But after reading all the poems, I was impressed by two very different but equally beautiful voices, female and male. So there will be two winners with different main prizes. They are...

@katrina-ariel with her poem This Path...

Poetry has been helping me process the human experience since I was young. It has also been instrumental as I've evolved in my writing and musical pursuits. --@katrina-ariel

… and @raj808 with his poem The Blazing Heart of Danko

I became serious about creative writing as a vocation in 2003 when I took a degree in Imaginative writing at university. After an extended period of writers' block, I discovered Steemit. Over the course of the last year writing on this platform, I have both rediscovered my passion and re-learned my craft. I will be eternally grateful to this community for helping me get back to the point where writing every day is just a natural part of my life. --@raj808

As for the prizes, we've found out ways to reward both winners:

  • @katrina-ariel: Whaleshares community will support your next 10 posts with whale votes.
  • @raj808: You will receive 100 WHALESHARE tokens and 500 DBREAD tokens.

And for both of you:

  • The Isle of Write community will post a feature dedicated exclusively to you and your blog content and also add you to its auto vote for the next 30 days.
  • You will get my 100% upvotes for the next 30 days (1 post a day) and I’ll reblog some of your posts during this time.

Congratulations to the winners and shortlist members and a wholehearted thank you to all who took part in this contest! The tokens will be sent before the end of the week.
