LIT Can Bring Us Together!

I admit that I really didn't "get" the idea behind the LIT project when Chris ( @profanereviews ) first told me about it. I'm now starting to see it's potential and usefulness as a project to bring down the language barrier.

One of my posts was recently translated into Indonesian. When I shared about that, I got several comments referring me to @lit.

Two Different Services

As I understand it, there are two ways that LIT helps the Whaleshares community. The first is to reach out to new users who do not speak English or who don't speak it very well. By having volunteers in the LIT community who speak their language and English, we can help onboard them to Whaleshares.

The second service is straightforward translation of texts. For example, I saw that a poem was translated from it's original language into English. I value the text translation service, as I would like the message of some of my posts to reach non-English speakers. I wouldn't have even considered this if @imamalkimas had not volunteered to translate one of my posts into the Indonesian language. Since he did that, I can really understand the value that the @lit project brings to our Whaleshares community.

I highly recommend following the @lit project account. You can also give them donations of liquid WLS so that they are better able to reward the translators who make their service possible.

This is one of the meaningful ways that Whaleshares is bringing people together.
