ULog#19: Post Thanksgiving Weight Loss

The following post has been cross posted from Steemit.

I am back from the Thanksgiving holidays! The end of the year is always filled with busy family events and whatnot. Also, given the market is down across the board, it is hard to stay active and post content. Look at it from another angle, everything is on sale right now!

Whether you are a fan of crypto market or stocks in general, almost everything is down at the moment. Some are selling to cut losses. Some are hibernating for the winter. Then, there are some who are more than willing to double down on their purchases.

Here's the template

The proverbial "do not invest more than you are willing to lose" still applies here. As long as you are in sound financial standing, it is worth it to divert part of your income to investments. The best part about the crypto sphere is that you do not have to buy an entire "share". You could buy as little as the exchanges would accept.

In Life

Thanksgiving was great! I enjoyed friends' and family's company. I had the opportunity to spend time at a cabin on top of the mountain. There were good food and good people.

I managed to take this photo looking into the nightscape. It is the moon and its reflection on the lake. During the winter months, the lake freeze over and become an ice fishing spot for the locals.

It snowed a bit over the holidays, but the temperature was not cold enough to make them stick. So, mud was everywhere on the trails. I still have not spent time washing off the mud off of my car...or the inside of it.

I will get to them, eventually.

In STEEM

At the time of this post, STEEM traded at ~$0.31 USD. For cost average folks like me, it is a great time to drop some money on it. A small buy order of $50 would yield you around 160 STEEM. Granted, since the price is lower, your votes are lower as well. The idea is to stack up for the time of plenty ahead. Although, I have a feeling that it is going to become lower in the coming weeks.

I did come out pretty well after converting 100 SBD to STEEM. Conversion removes SBD from circulation (i.e. burned). It does create a downward pressure on STEEM price, but I received more than 235 STEEM out of it, so I am not complaining.

The Utopian Anti-abuse project has resumed its operations. The category expanded to include security as a topic. A key point to remember is that you do not have to be a developer to contribute to @utopian-io. There are many categories to choose from and they are all open source.

Back to the low prices, negative curation has been affected as well. But, there will be more to come when the bear phase subside.

Hope everyone is doing well and I will be disappearing again for the Christmas and New Year's.
