Day 3. Today's brew is another selection from Swamp Head Brewery. No reaction videos! I checked the ingredients and deemed it "safe."

Stump Knocker by Swamp Head Brewery

Hubby came home with two new beers and Stump Knocker happened to be another selection which Swamp Head Brewery offers. Based in Gainesville, a North Florida-based brewery, I hope to visit their location one of these days.

Pale Ale... hmm... Did I mention that I like dark beer?

This is not dark beer, but it is way more to my liking than Cotton Mouth by Swamp Head Brewery. Stump Knocker has a nice honey/amber color to it and the flavor tastes more like the domestic beers that I'm used to drinking - but it has a citrus taste to it - almost like a grapefruit tang which compliments the hops very well.

What's a Stumpknocker?

I have never heard the term "Stumpknocker" before living in Florida. Apparently it is a fresh-water spotted sunfish, often referred to as a stumpknocker. According to several sources, the stumpknocker got its nickname because it has "an affinity for submerged timber." ^[1]

There is also a local restaurant called Stumpknockers which boasts really good burgers and fish dishes. One of these days my husband will have to take me on a date so I can taste the fare.

Still drinking beer!

Day 3 doesn't feel terrible and I'm getting a nice stockpile of brewskies in the fridge. That will come in handy when my brother comes down for a visit. LOL
