Spider hunter

Pirate spiders are members of a group of spiders that include all types of "nest makers" - the type that makes a nest in a circle - but they do not make nets.

Actually, they lost that ability. They can still make silk thread, which they use to build egg bags and wrap prey. But their anatomy makes it impossible to spin a net. The number of "spigots" on their spinerets is much smaller than their relatives.

Instead, they colonized other spider webs, in an attempt to fish and then killed the poor architect. They gently pluck the string of the net, attracting the host to approach.
