Horror Movies from the 80s - and why I love (and laugh about) them by @vincentnijman

image from the author's post

Are you alive of movies?
Specifically horror movies?
Then this is one of those posts the house do not want to skip.

Having read the above, it won't come as a surprise to you that - when I started to watch more and more movies - I soon got into the 'HORROR' genre there too. I guess it started out by coincidentally stumbling upon some scary movies on TV (we only had cable TV when I was 12 years old, in 1993). I remember one of them was Arachnophobia (a horror comedy about Spiders). It scared the hell out of my little sister and merely made me laugh.

@vincentnijman starting with an autobiographical session of his birthday, his transition into ages and how he got into horror explaining how he moved from books to movies gave a down list of some horror movies that actually captured his heart.

They include;

  • Gremlins(1984)
  • Critters(1988)
  • The Shining(1980)
  • The Evil dead(1981)/Evil dead11(1987)
  • (John Carpenter's) The thing(1982)

This is a post you do not want to miss O ye hottie movies' lovers!

image from the author's post

Are you a lover of tradition and arts?
Do you love to see how tradition and music correlate?

@indrameong07 shared some of the results of making a traditional Indonesian musical instrument named Bamboo Flute.

Today I will share some of the results of making Indonesian traditional musical instruments, namely bamboo flute, this traditional musical instrument is very well known in the world and even so many foreign tourists learn to play this traditional musical instrument in Indonesia.

With some pictures, he showcased the materials used; the bamboo and how holes are bored in parts of the bamboo to help in the emitting of sounds. Cutting tools have to be used in the process.

This is one of those posts the house do not want to miss because the information is very vital.
Do stop by the post please! Thanks!

WHEN I DIE SOMEDAY, DO NOT TELL ME YOU LOVE ME by @etemi

image from the author's post

@etemi is here with a philosophical and life analytical piece.
we've all seen and heard series of death stories and talks.

Death, is a very scary subject that most people do not want to ever discuss about. There is a myth that when you talk about it then the sword of death is going to strike you sooner than you expect. But cut the crap! Let’s be realistic DEATH is the final destination of everyone including me. No one can actually tell when the sword would hit them.

@etemi educates us all that death is the final destination. He made reference to the movie 12 years a slave showing a keen relationship between death and survival.

Drafting friendship, he talks about the reactions of others when death struck someone. In the world today, when someone does, a lot of drama comes out, a lot of people profess to love, a lot lament and cry wishing they could join the dead in the grave and others say random words and give stern reactions.

@etemi informs us to show love while people are still alive. Some people celebrate people when they are dead rather than when they are alive to feel and enjoy the celebration. @etemi's post corrects this tradition.

The bigger the idea the bigger the value by @jesse12

image from the author's post

A work of the soul, reviewing our knowledge, our thoughts and motivationally, @jesse12 takes us through an aspect of life. He advises us on the importance of starting from a small perspective or having a small aim before driving at the big picture.

Taking advantage of your idea is an investment strategy that involves the use of loaned capital to enlarge the potential returns on the investment. In other words this formula also works with ideas, nevertheless as old and weary idea in a new challenge can be transformative. Probably a simple idea about helping the next neighbor could lead to a life changing experience.

Most of us, do make the mistake of aiming big and creating ambiguous problems that solving them is beyond our capacity. It is easier to start small, handle what are can, solve the problems bit by bit before we get to the huge ones. By then, we are experienced and have conquered a lot already.

This is a post you do not want to miss. Food for thought!

The great lessons i learned yesterday from my journey by @hermannsol

image from the author's post

Real life situation, lessons learned from a journey!
@hermannsol shares his latest experience on a journey from Yaounde to Bamenda in the North Region of Cameroon.

I stood there at this moment and i looked up to heaven and said, "God i place myself in your hands and commit my decision into your hands." With that said, i went on and joined the group that moved to the house. The stranger was very kind and gave us water, he also suggested of a nearby place where we could get food. Meanwhile a kind lady brought out her lunch pack and we all shared of it. The stranger later introduced himself to be a pastor and they often helped out stranded passengers on the way.

He shares with us how some ladies delayed their trip by arriving late only to remain ungrateful to the passengers who patiently waited for them. This however led to their late arrival into the city that has already placed a 6pm curfew. They had to say outside the city in a strange environment.

Help was rendered to them by a stranger and most of them took the risk of sleeping at the stranger's place.
They got to know the stranger better and themselves better. @hermannsol shared life lessons he had learned from this journey.
