In March, Jim Bridenstine announced that soon a historic event is being prepared, which will be the first space walk in history carried out by only two astronauts. Unfortunately, it never happened.

The reason was prosaic, namely the problem was in space suits. No, it's not that the astronauts wouldn't want to go for a space walk in the same, but that there was only one small size suit that a woman could enter on the International Space Station. NASA takes care of the smallest details, and here such a pathetic problem appeared in the obstacle to the implementation of such a great event in the history of space exploration.

Astronauts Anne McClain and Christina Koch were to go on a space walk on March 29, and during it were to complete the work of replacing lithium-ion batteries, which are filled with energy obtained from solar panels. Interestingly, the walk was not specifically planned for the needs of parities, but came out quite spontaneously. It happened thanks to two astronauts who were to live together on board the International Space Station.

However, this historic event will take place after 12 noon Polish time. Then the American, Christina Koch and Jessica Meir will go out for a space walk. NASA has planned that they will replace the broken power controller during the walk. Completing the task should not be a problem for experienced astronauts, but in space often there are various surprises.

If you want to see this historic event, then you can do so thanks to the live coverage of NASA TV. On the occasion of the topic of women in space, it is worth adding that at present women constitute about 34 percent of the agency's space group. This is still not enough, but in the coming years this situation will improve, because women are more and more willing to pursue their careers in the US Air Force and NASA.

The head of the American Space Agency is an astronaut himself, he has been to space several times and believes that there is space for both men and women. This is important because the first people in space were men, they were also the first inhabitants of the cosmic house and as the only ones participated in the great Apollo missions to the moon.

As for the Red Planet, women will play a huge role in its colonization, due to the birth of future Martians. Scientists are planning a series of experiments in the coming years that will allow us to find out whether pregnancy on a foreign planet, under conditions of different gravity, high isolation and with limited resources, will be able to proceed in a safe and predictable way.

Such knowledge is extremely important if we are serious about creating the first human colonies on the moon and Mars, and later cities and new civilizations. It is no secret and no one should be surprised that people are not adapted to live in such extreme conditions that prevail in space. Researchers have recently suggested that in the future it will be necessary to think about the use of genetic modifications in future colonizers to better adapt them to the new reality of life on other objects of the Solar System.
