  • Welcome back, Steemit travelers! In this pleasant opportunity, I want to share with you an illustration that I have made with a lot, a lot of love, in view of the characters of El Lobo (writer) and Luna (illustrator). The concept is simple. It is a warrior armed with any precise quality that allows him to rise to the height of the stars. Except for a greater need to overcome everything else: love. And it is the Moon that will sustain him and guide him on a journey through the cosmos (his dreams).
*P.D.1 .: The entry you are about to appreciate is not about a tutorial, but rather about my desire to share with you the process that I carried out during my work, and to hope that maybe they could be useful in some way. I understand that it is the same idea of a tutorial, however, even with it, I repeat, this is not a tutorial. I could expand on explaining why, but that would be the subject of an entry that I will not make, because I think it would not interest them too much, because it is something rather personal.
*P.D.2 .: For this exercise I used some brushes imported from Krita 3.1.3
Having already clarified those points, I am going to show you the procedure of this beautiful illustration. <3

1.

The first thing I did, certainly, was to generate a sketch in which both characters were appreciated. For this I used the charcoal pencil medium pencil (available in the drop-down menu of brushes).

2.

Next, with the bristles wet brush (available in the drop-down menu of brushes, imported from krita 3.1.3), I began to generate a grayscale spot, in order to locate the high, mid and low tones.

2.mancha.png

3.

I continued, with the same brush, defining the stain. P.d .: the grayscale fulfills the function of locating the tones, values, volumes and textures so that when coloring, these elements are in the background, being able to concentrate only on the color.

4.

Once I had finished the grayscale, I proceeded to adjust the color of the grayscale, so that it became a monochromatic composition with a blue-green tendency. The objective of doing this is to nuance and harmonize the scene as far as color is concerned. To do this I pressed on my keyboard CTRL + U> Type> chroma blue / chroma red / luma> I adjusted the controls manually.

5.

In a new layer I started coloring, even with the bristles wet brush, without exerting too much pressure on the graphic tablet.

6.

At this point I noticed that the color of the tones (the layer below) did not favor the composition, which is why I decided to change it. For this I pressed on my keyboard CTRL + B> I adjusted the colors manually.

7.

Continué coloreando.
I continued coloring.

8.

I continued with the background generating a spot with the colors that would be in it. Then, pressing the tablet minimally, I softened the brushstrokes.

9.

I added a lighting with pink and orange, as these are complementary blue, generating, in this sense, a contrast by color, which would help me highlight the figure of my characters.

10.

Finally I added details, see the clouds, same that I started, like the rest, with a spot that I was defining with short curved / diagonal brush strokes, in order to accredit a smooth visual texture.

Finally I finished with a shooting star that would allow me to end the visual tour effectively.
