'Blue Ice'

Is it dusk? Is it not? I love the ambiguity regarding the light in this photograph. The big bluish icy foreground, our main point of interest, is set against a background of a different colour. The forest through the holes appears as if I took the photograph during the sunset, right? Is it really so? We cannot be sure. The big part of ambiguity is created by the colour of the sky on top of the image. If it was sunset or dusk, would it be light-cyan as it is??

I love the feeling this photograph offers to me. It is a blend of curiosity, wonder and beautiful coldness at the same time. It might arise different emotions in your inscape but we should probably agree that it is a quite romantic one. :)

The cold feeling of bluish ice is juxtaposed against a far smaller amount of warm peach colour of alleged sunset. I especially appreciate the 'holes' in the foreground through which we are able to see the areas in peach colour. I also like that the ice appears it might fall off at any moment. The structure of its surface deserves a closer observation.

A little touch of unsharpness in the top left and bottom right focuses the observer to the middle and adds that romantic vibe.

Enjoy! :)
