Why hello dear Whaleshares community! :D

Today I am back with an another commission art, this time, this is the 3rd commission art right before @erodedthoughts

Today I am drawing @immortal-tounge's avatar, I had so much fun with this! I've never actually drawn a full on tounge in semi realistic mode, and I had experimenting!

First I have to know what a tounge looks like "duh" I looked at the mirror and just pulled out my tounge, studying I noticed some things,

• the tounge is.. Very wet, and shiny.
• it's kind of squishy and flexible too.
• what kind of looks like a rocky surface, but still.. Its wet

So I kind of imagined the tounge is like a balloon surface with a weird texture on it.

And a tip for every artist that I always say.. : USE REFFERENCES, from online or using your own photos or just looking at the mirror.

Sometimes I forgot to even use refferences, and got frustrated at some drawings. So, just to remind all artist.

So

After all of that shenanigans, I was ready to draw the Immortal Tounge! The tounge that has surpassed it all in the multi dimension.

I honestly did not know if I ever felt that way to my own self, I felt like I was boring or just feel like I am a bad person

Reading eroded's and Immortal-Tounge's post, I feel like I had a moment of self reflection and just think

"is this what people think of me?? Man these people are so positive to me... I should really start loving myself more"

I think.. It's not always the artist that can make a commission art work, it takes both artist and the person who ordered it to work together to, make something that the commissioner always want and yet the artists is proud of it!

Process:

• First: sketch

we started with the sketch, I have to ask what Immortal really wants, at the start, since I don't want to mess anything up for this! Make my commissioners proud of me and be happy, ya know what I'm saying?

I mean, don't we all want to make other people happy?

• Second: colors

I used some blending layers, and just the color brown, just like what @immortal-tounge wants!

• Third: some changes

Immortal asked me change the eyes and make it wink, so I did.

I kind of finally understand that he want a realistic version of his old profile picture. I felt like a person in a barber shop.

"Yo, I want this drawing to be like this."

"Ah, I gotchu fam."

• Fourth: Lighting and shading

While I did kind of made the lighting and shading in the coloring process. I did think of a blue light coming down,

A.k.a

A secondary light, it's only purpose to make the tounge look better and shinier than it looks like. I did not know what I exactly wanted from this, I am experimenting if I am right and wrong.

Sometimes create multiple save files. So if you did fuck up on something you can just come back to it.

• fifth: Overpainting
  This is the most fun part for me, (but in most cases it is the most frustrating)

But, Maya how do you overpaint?

Make a new layer, and draw above it. Yep, that's what I did, though I understand why that technique would turn off some people. But that's the most common thing I do.

And...

Also yes immortal, replying from your post, talking about me and my service. I do remember that I added some sparkles, to make it more shiny.

and I also added an overlay layer from a stone texture.

Immortal didn't want that so, hey gotta so what I gotta do amir8? Keep the customers happy ;)

And..

FINISHED!!!

I removed the shiny and also, I made it a bit smaller since I was scared it won't fit with Whaleshares box.

Unfortunately @immortal-tounge's kept not changing for DAYS, and had to sit with a blank profile picture 😂, I tried my best to help to fix it.

At first I thought I changed it to 72dpi, since thats what one person gave an advice me to.

But it did not work at all.

And then @ijmmai in wshares official discord told me that you have to wait for the profile image to load.. Which is kind of a weird bug, but okay....
