Welcome to Part 2 of my ultimate guide for artists who use the blockchain! I have been meaning to do this series for a while as a way to make the entrance into this wonderful technology a little smoother and less confusing for artists. I will be covering each resource/dapp/platform in an individual post and at the end I will combine them all together as an index for easy sharing.

Artisteem/nTopaz

For part 2 I am covering nTopaz (just rebranded from Artisteem). nTopaz runs on the Steem blockchain and you can login using steemconnect.

What is interesting about this platform is that there are multiple ways to submit content. You can submit an original creation, join one of their contests that have very generous prize pools, or curate other artists. They have a pretty nice curation effort going but in order to have a chance at being curated you need to follow their posting guidelines.

At a glance they seem a bit confusing for new users but they are quite simple. There are three tags you can use in the title, CR, CO or CU (creation, contest, curation respectively).

Take a look at the guidelines and make sure to follow them when posting.

Here is an example of an original creation using the CR tag:

They have just upgraded to allow adding multiple images in the post which IMO is a must for artists!! The current focus is on visual arts but they also plan on adding categories for music, dance and many other artistic disciplines.

Overall thoughts

I ran into a few small glitches when trying to post and reported to the team, they are working on smoothing out the kinks. They have some excellent and dedicated curators reviewing the posts, many are artists themselves. New platforms always have some small growing pains though and I think when these are all sorted nTopaz looks very promising and I am excited to see the evolution of the additional categories :D I recommend giving it a shot and giving some feedback as first hand user experience is very valuable.

nTopaz has a very friendly and informative discord that you can join and they are very quick to respond to questions: https://discord.gg/eRgHdke
