Mural [Process] : Collective Memory
Mural created for a young artists exhibition at the International Art & Antiques Fair, 7 m (22 ft) / Acrylic paint. From sketch to the finished painting, the entire process took around 7 days.
Here you can see the original sketch, drawn with ink and markers on tracing paper.
The concept for this painting revolved around shared memories and ideas present in the collective mind of our generation.
First thing was applying a white fill inside every shape in order to seal the surface for better coverage. I always do this no matter the scale of the painting, it helps the colors to pop-out a bit more.
With the white paint ready, I started to apply colors with a flat brush (around 2-3 coats for every shape).
More colors...
After the main colors were done, I continued to paint the red outline and details around it with a fine brush...
...and finally, it was time for the black fill and outline.
As a collaboration, another artist created a small installation displaying some of the objects and tools (spraycans, brushes, paint containers, skateboard, pencils, markers, etc) usually present in our daily routines...
