Tradition

Tradition has Latin roots in the word "tradere,"which means hand over or hand down.
But we can say tradition refers to beliefs, objects or customs performed or believed in the past, originating in it, transmitted through time by being taught from one generation to the next, and are performed or believed in the present.
It can also be seen as a beliefs or behavior passed down within a group or society with symbolic meaning or special significance reasons.
In India according to their own tradition if a woman is a widow they first cut their hair and make them wear white cloth all through. They have to wake up early and take their bath before the sun comes out in the morning. They also don't seat with others while eating because they are widow and it keep going on from generation to generation.

Importance of tradition

• It brings family together and let them reconnect with friends.

• It also reinforce values like e.g good education, integrity, been selfless and personal responsibility.

• It also offers us a chance to appreciate people that contribute into our life.

• It also provide us a source of identity either to a country, nation or family.
  Which is why tradition teaches children about where their family came from or about their cultural and religious history.

• It reinforce values such as freedom, faith, integrity, a strong ethnic.

• And one of the most things tradition teaches is value and it's kind of the main
  purpose of rituals e.g religious or secular.
