In the studio with the wav-Dr.
I've been playing guitar for 28 years. In that time I've used lots of gear but I have found my personal favourites.
This is my guitar rig and my mic setup.
On the Far left is an Original SWR Super Red Head. I use that for bass.
The middle Amp is a 1960's Sears Silvertone. My Dad bought it back in the day.
When I was growing up it was tucked in the corner collecting Dust. My Dad at that point in his life was so busy with work he wasn't playing much. I had bought a Laney 75 Watt 2 x 12" amp and cabinet. It was Black and shinny and looked great. For some reason one day I plugged into the Silvertone. I was blown away. It sounded so much better than my Laney. Eventually my Dad gave it to me. It's been heard on every song I have ever recorded with an Amp. 421 Mic on it.
The Amp on the Right is my live/studio Amp. It's a F-30 Mesa Boogie. I love this little power house! I drove to Calgary Amp shopping and after 40+ Amps and 3 stores I found the one. This has been heard on everything with an Amp as well. Not my early demos but all official releases. Shure SM57 Mic on it.
I then pan the 2 tracks hard Left and Right.
Here's some links so you can hear the sound I get with this setup.
