'The Blue Road'

A lone biker is on an old mountain road. The feeling is mellow, nostalgic even, but most probably also spiced with a touch of freedom from the routine, hidden somewhere in there.

The composition is almost dead centred but it works quite fine. The road is curving to the right, outside of the frame, which adds a hint of mystery. We can predict that the biker is about to turn the corner but we can only imagine where the road leads to.

The overall mellow feeling is achieved by the soft focus on various places close to the edges of the frame. This also focuses our attention more to the middle. The deep shade on both sides serves the same purpose, giving the road a significant role, apart from the biker who is the main element.

Regarding colours, the blue road comes out strongest among all. The rest of them are not so demanding to the eye and, because of their medium saturation, quite pleasantly flow into each other. The blue road stands out and fully draws in our attention. It does create a strange vibe, pushing this image into the expressionist playground.

Did you notice that the biker has the backpack in the same colour as the road? ;)
