What In Life, Inspires Me!
We all know that life can be very unpredictable. That the journeys we undertake can really test us and push us outside of our comfort zone. Of course, that only happens, if we decide to actually embrace the opportunity for change. To just trust that universe will give us what we can handle and what we need in order to grow. Surrendering to the natural flow of life, which sure can be chaotic at times, but which will ultimately bring us closer to reaching our full potential.
Thinking on this question there are many people, many things that have inspired me, that have motivated me to become the person I am and to live the way that I do. It is not always easy to live outside the box, to go against the grain and indeed life can on a day to day basis can be more difficult. My goal in life is to live as natural as possible. To allow my body to adjust fully to my surroundings and to try and be fully present as I live my life.
Being able to tune into my environment, embracing the change that comes with each season. Really feeling the heat and the cold, working with the weather instead of viewing it as something that hinders me. Being able to do all of these things allows me to strengthened my relationship with the many natural resources that I have around me.
The water, the cool, healing water that brings me instant relief during these hot, hot days, that cleanses and rejuvenates me.
The majestic olive trees that give me shade from the intense sun and shelter from the heavy downpours that will come after the summer.
The soil that grows my food, that in turn nourishes me and my children. The healing that I get from working with this soil, feeding it so that I become a part of it's life cycle, just as it is a part of mine.
It is the abundance of life that I see around me, that is what inspires me.
To wake up each morning and have my 3 girls close to me. To bare witness to them as they grow into the people that they are meant to be. To hear the passion in their voices when they talk about what they have achieved each day, and to see them blossom before my eyes. All the while teaching me and showing me what it means to fully live, each and every moment.
Their love for life inspires me!
This journey that I find myself on, the choices I have made that have led me to where I am now, living a life of abundance. This inspires me. Like I said before, I could have written about the people in my life that have inspired me and maybe another day I will, but for now it is my decisions that have brought me to here. To this point in my life and that is what I want to celebrate. That is what I think we should all celebrate, who we are!
I finish with a poem, a poem that looks at a part of my journey, a poem that celebrates life, my Life.
that which continues to grow
to create my reality
to allow my old self to overthrow,
these feelings
that have held me back
that have prevented me from dealing
with what has risen to the surface
and impended my dreaming.
So many years of ignoring,
these thoughts buried deep
but oh this sense of liberation
to let go and allow that side to sleep.
To feel my roots go deeper
to draw up more power each day,
the freedom in realizing
this new empowered me is here to stay.
Even in my exhaustion
I can tap into my source
and connect with this energy
and allow myself to reinforce
that which is my right
to be proud of whom I am
to hold my head up high
and say to all I don't give a damn,
for your opinions and disapproval
for how you think I should behave,
I have embraced myself
and I will not be enslaved.
