The Memoirs Of The Boy by @warpedpoetic

Meet @warpedwhale.

I would describe this amazing writer as somebody who takes mundane scenarios often seedy, gritty and dark and writes a piece that finds beauty within.

He would describe himself as;

a poet, a wild old soul and a Nigerian. I also create fictional accounts of life that dwell on human failings and how we strive yet fall.

I have long believed that one of the major secrets of being a great writer is in implicitly knowing the characters you are working with. It is far more than merely writing about their lives, it is knowing how and why they act and behave and think in the way they do.

The coming of age piece I am sharing with you here exhibits a writer who knows his characters as much as he knows himself.

Till Death Do You Part by @raiza-vzla03

A very short dark flash with a deliciously cryptic ending.

Now he was marching for the murder of the same woman. Nobody ever understood why she married him, only the poet from the rock, smiling wrote and understood the lovers.

What did the poet understand? That is the intriguing puzzle. Well done!

  • Some of the posts offered were not tagged with scribbleguild Whilst I was lenient this week, including this tag will be essential if you want to be considered for future prizes.
  • You may now offer creative writing posts in the prose channel for consideration for next weeks competition.
