When is the last time you held one of these?

This is not what we expected to see. In fact, they were so tiny that they were difficult to see. Moreover, because of how fast they were, they were very difficult to capture. Thankfully, we did manage to catch a couple, so the children were able to see firsthand that some salamander species start out like this. It was crazy to behold, and make our hike even more enjoyable than it already was. Enjoy the photos!
