Quarter Finals Ties and Predictions.

It was a long road to get to this point and there is no doubt that those who have gotten to this point deserved to be here. What a journey it has been for the last 8 teams standing and the dream continues in their Quarter Finals match. This is another hurdle to overcome and anyone who advances to the Semi-Finals can dream yet again because they are just a step closer to achieving their goal which is to win the trophy.

This is the stage where you have to take your chances. There are no second chances as there wasn't in the round of 16.

Switzerland v Spain:

This is a match that I feel would be a high scoring game and also another high intensity game full of attacking intents because both teams love to attack. There would be a renewed hope for Switzerland and the confidence would be high especially how they came back from 3-1 to draw 3-3 and eventually win with penalties against France. Spain won't sit back too as they can draw confidence from how they dispatched Croatia after normal time. They showed resilience and character too and for this tie, I am tipping Spain to win.

Belgium v Italy:

Belgium got the better of Portugal and as I have been saying before now, I have not been impressed by them despite possessing array of talents at their disposal. They are capable of so much more but they haven't really shown it yet. Italy got the better of Austria and they finally conceded for the first time in the tournament against Austria. They have a resolute defence line and seeing how Belgium struggles to break down oppositions, I am tipping Italy to win against Belgium side that might be without De Bruyne and Eden Hazard.

Czech Republic v Denmark:

This would be another interesting tie. Czech Republic did the unexpected when they dumped out Netherlands in the round of 16 and they have shown that they are not pushovers and deserved to be at this stage of the competition. They will prove to be a worthy match for Denmark who have produced their best game ever since they played against Belgium despite their shaky opening start. Denmark dispatched Wales in an emphatic fashion and I am tipping them to win against Czech Republic for this round.

Ukraine v England:

This is going to be a tough one for England despite Harry Kane grabbing his first goal and Sterling being the main scorer for England. Ukraine won against a spirited Sweden and I expected them to have that self belief again against England who might show the same fight as Sweden. England have been struggling for goals and seeing how they played to perfection against Germany to grind out the result and with Sterling, Kane and Grealish firing well while the back remain rock solid with Maguire and Stones, I believe England would win against Ukraine for this round. I am tipping England to win this round.
