What a game this was for football lovers and of course for Liverpool fans. These are the kinds of games you pay to watch and know you have gotten the reward for your money. It was an impressive showing from both sides after Liverpool raced to a 2-0 only to be pegged back by the resilient Atletico Madrid players but Liverpool got the last laugh as they got the needed goal to win the game 3-2 on Atletico Madrid's turf.

Antoine Griezmann scored twice to draw his side level and then received his marching orders after for a foul which forced the hand of the red to give him a red card. Salah was also instrumental in the victory against Atletico Madrid as he scored twice, in between Keita's goal.

As expected, Salah did what Salah knows how to do best as he skipped past 3 players after cutting inside to unleash a shot that took a wicked deflection into the back of the net in the 8th minute to give Liverpool an early lead.

Liverpool heaped more misery on Atletico Madrid in the 13th minute after a terrible clearance fell graciously to Keita and his brilliant smashing volley found the back of the net to give Liverpool a healthy 2-0 lead.

Atletico Madrid got back into the game in the 20th minute after Lemar brilliantly worked Keita to get past him inside the box. His ball in found Koke on the edge of the box and his shot missed everyone until it got to Griezmann who had a little flick to get the ball into the back of the net. It didn't take too long for Atletico to draw level after Joao Felix's individual brilliance made him lose his markers and he found Griezmann with a sumptuous pass. He nudged his ball past his marker as well and scored in a brilliant fashion to make the game 2-2.

It got worse for Atletico Madrid after Griezmann was shown a straight red card for a high boot challenge on Roberto Firmino in the 52nd minute. This tilted the advantage in favour of Liverpool again and you can be sure they will punish Atletico at this stage of the game.

Hermoso's clumsy challenge on Jota didn't go unnoticed as he carelessly challenged him inside the box and the referee wasted no time in pointing to the penalty spot. Mo' Salah stepped up in the 77th minute and expertly converted to give Liverpool the lead yet once again.

Atletico got the penalty of their own in the 80th minute and the referee pointed to the spot but after a VAR check, the referee made use of his side monitor to check and it was deemed a minimal contact and the penalty decision was overruled much to the disappointment of the Atletico faithful. The game ended in favour of Liverpool and you can see that Diego Simeone wasn't happy as he raced into the dugout without exchanging pleasantries with Jürgen Klopp.
