Inspired Olawalium... 2.

I love it when I get inspired to scribble down my thoughts. It can be something I picked up off my head or about something I am witnessing which caused a stir deep inside me. Here, I shared three rhythmic and powerful poems full of emotions. I would love to know which one you love the most... Enjoy...

Tell Papa...

Have I told you lately that I missed you, papa?
Just some hours back I sent a letter to mama
This is yours, don't feel bad, there is no need to drama
It doesn't mean you are less important but you know our history
Everyone knows my history with you, they can tell the story
If I start writing them in sheets they would fill the lorry
You and I were 5 and 6 and for that, I am not sorry
You were the best father and it has nothing to do with the money
Someone help me tell Papa that I missed the sound of his car horn
I wish I can have more time with him; go back to when I was born
I wish I can wake up one day and find you across the room in the morn'
I knew how proud you were of me that I am your son
Our stories would always be told and its weight in gold would worth more than a ton
I miss you and I wish everyone can reiterate that to you for me
Tell Papa that I still look like him and it's uncanny
A father that dedicated his life to us and he's so far from tyranny
I still love buying your favourite perfume even though they have reduced the quality
I don't even want to get started about Nigeria for the sake of my sanity
Your passing taught me what you've always stressed that life itself is vanity
You always speak of love even in the face of betrayal, you hold no enmity
I wish you can look down right now so I can catch a glimpse of your smile...
I am a product of who you were on earth
You showed me the way of the Lord, delight is in my heart

History Will Forget Them...

Most African countries with a notable example in Nigeria is a circus show
They mismanage everything and during elections they want us to go with their flow
They are consistently killing the youths' glow
They always come up with policies just to deal us with a blow
Just when you think they have done the worst, they hit another all time low
The way they come up with excuses, our intelligence they insult
I wonder how their close circle feels without consult
They have no conscience, maybe that's the trademark of their occult
Nigeria has become an object or laughter or you can say a joke
Since it's a circus show, their performance is terrible and won't even pay with the price of a coke
How elder state men acts like children is funny and their head I want to poke
You can be older and have nothing upstairs like our leaders, yes, I spoke
It's about their pockets, as long as they are rich, they don't mind others being broke
Every attempt they block as long as the youths want to alleviate their yoke
Our current crop of leaders lacked substance
With their crimes they should be behind the bar for longer sentence
They tried to deprive the average youth of education so we won't do better
We know better, fend for ourselves and now they are bitter
With their actions and words, you can see they are ugly
If only they know they are on a slippery path with future so foggy
We shall be here as we watch them shamelessly leave the earth
And history won't have anything worthy of note to say about them
As their names get kicked to the curb and forever forgotten
And when we remember their names, it would be with disdain

History Will Forget Them...II (Another Style)

This country is indeed a circus show
They expected us all to go with the flow
With every stunt they pull, intelligence they insult
I wonder if their family members they never consult
Or the members of their secret cult
Before they disgraced them all in the public
Apples don't fall farther from the tree, truly
This country is run sometimes like a joke
I won't even pay to watch with the price of a coke
Total distaste and insult to intelligence is their joke
They are older but I am sorry, their nose I just want to poke
Age is indeed never a sign of maturity, we spoke
They want to rule us with poverty, leaving everyone else broke
Now we want to alleviate our yoke
They are feeling the heat yet still forgetting common sense
They speak to the present even with paste tense
Indeed, fame doesn't amount to relevance
These set of leaders don't have any substance
Sometimes I wonder why we are cursed with this current crop -
Power drunk, killers, concealing evidence and terrible with lies
You can only imagine how they treat their wives
They cannot even lie intelligently
They try to deprive us of education so we wouldn't know better
We now know better and now they are bitter
Fighting tooth and nail to make things get ugly
With blood on their hands, their future is foggy
This country has turned into a drama
They have invited the whole world to the show
Now, we watch as they show how intelligently inept they are
And watch them shamelessly go into oblivion
As history forgets their name
Or remembers them for lessons learnt and not for fame

Thank you for your time.

Still me,
