I always say it that with Arsenal you don't know what to expect; they win a game you thought they'd lose and then lose a game you expect them to win and they have been impressive a lot lately and maybe this is a sign of better things to come as they are climbing up the table after a terrible start to the season which left many doubting the credibility of Mikel Arteta as the head coach.

Arsenal hosted Aston Villa on Friday night and the game could have gone either way but it went the Arsenal way as they won the game by 3-1 thanks to Partey, Aubameyang and Smith-Rowe who raced Arsenal to a 3-0 lead before Ramsey got a consolation for Aston Villa even as it was a little too late.

Arsenal got off to a flying start in the 23rd minute after Smith-Rowe delivered a lovely corner kick into the box and Partey was there to meet it as he headed home into the back of the net to register his first goal for Arsenal at a crucial time as this.

Arsenal went 2-0 up in the 6th minute of added time in the first half after Lacazette was kicked inside the box. The referee consulted with the side monitor and deemed it worthy of a penalty kick. Aubameyang stepped up and hit his shot from the spot kick but Martinez was on hand to deny the skipper but the rebound fell graciously to him and Martinez was helpless to stop it this time as Aubameyang doubled Arsenal's tally on the night.

A swift counter attack led to the third goal after a brilliant flick by Aubameyang sent Smith-Rowe racing through on goal. He tried to pick out the right side of the post but Mings got a touch to his shot as it deflected off his foot into the bottom left corner of the net off the upright to confirm Villa's defeat on the night.

Villa got their consolation goal in the 82nd minute after Ramsey pounced on a loose ball to smash home his effort that left the goalkeeper rooted on the same spot. It was a little too late but we must say that Arsenal turned up on the night and restricted Villa in every department. It was an important win for Mikel Arteta's men with 3 points in the bag as they moved into 9th position on the log as at the time they played this match.
