The founder of the Oculus company, specializing in the construction of augmented reality goggles, presented his super-fast drone for special tasks. The police see him as a flying hound and a ram in one.

Drones have recently become more and more popular all over the world. Their prices are falling strongly from year to year, so they are slowly beginning to be within the reach of almost everyone. For all services it is a very big problem, because they are often used improperly or their operators fly them into forbidden air spaces and threaten safety.

The boss of Oculus wants to change this sad reality for the better. Until now, he specialized in the production of great VR goggles, but now he has entered the world of advanced drones. His team Anduril designed and built a device with the meaningful name Interceptor. It is a pursuit drone equipped with powerful engines, vision system and artificial intelligence. Its task is to quickly and effectively neutralize unidentified flying vehicles.

Of course, this is not about vehicles belonging to foreign civilizations, but small drones that threaten public safety. The American police have already become interested in the project. Although the services are equipped with weapons for neutralizing drones, a much better solution seems to be the use of more advanced devices such as Interceptor.

The Oculus drone has a reinforced housing and can accelerate to a dizzying speed of 160 km / h in the blink of an eye. In the film, we can see how the drone literally rams another flying device, i.e. it does what it was created for. Anduril said that if the target is not removed the first time, the Interceptor drone in autonomous mode will make further attacks until it reaches the target.
