Deer in the Sunset
Hey everyone! Last week I posted about what I called "Sidewalk Deer" because they are so common in my neighbourhood. This week I thought I might try to capture some deer photos in a more natural setting, so I went mountain climbing last night and here's what I saw... Columbian Black-tailed deer (Odocoileus hemionug columbianus)
Nikon D750, 1/1250s f/4.0 ISO640 120mm
The first photo is for the Plants and Animals photo contest by @photochallenge.
I tried to find camera angles which hide the fact that I'm in a small hill-top park surrounded by the city.
I could brighten this so you see all the details, but I liked the way the shots looked straight out of camera.
Now I'll pull back the curtain and reveal more of the true scene... I am not actually in the wilderness at all, but it's fun to pretend.
Aiming the camera a little to the left we see the city. This is sunset in Victoria, BC, Canada, seen from Mt. Tolmie, last night. Thanks for visiting :-)
