Getting Somewhere

The new fullnode is running and as far as I know all scripts that had a mentioning of the old fullnode have been adjusted and are using the new one now. Let me know when you see something odd.

The old fullnode has been disabled and removed.

On the new fullnode a database is being filled with blockchain data, as we speak. This is kind of an experiment. I know how to interact with databases but never had the need to familiarize myself with optimization, indexes, and everything else that makes it possible to handle large amounts of data in a speedy fashion.

For this project I am using a PostgreSQL database. Never worked with it before but it was said to be a good match for every project. It is fun to learn something new. The commands are mostly equal to the MySQL ones I am used to, which is great, don't have to start from scratch. Just need to find out how to take full advantage of the possibilities.

The idea is to be able to create more statistics than currently present at the whaleshares.nl website, for the blockchain as well as the users. Improve my redlist, so it is more help to me, and probably won't be of much use to others. Give app development a try. Give React a try while playing with a personal frontend.

Lots to do, and nothing but fun.
