Vanaf 8 mei zal de eerste web3 smartphone beschikbaar zijn. Het Solana Labs *** team werkte hiervoor samen met de smartphone company OSOM en kwamen met een unieke smartphone.
Niet zozeer het uiterlijk is zo uniek, maar wel z'n degelijkheid met een ingebouwde hardware-wallet en web3 mogelijkheden.
Laten we eerlijk zijn: Een smartphone dient hoofdzakelijk om te telefoneren, en af en toe een berichtje te sturen. De rest is bijkomstig.
Deze telefoon is niet gemaakt om kiekjes te maken van de hoogste kwaliteit, wel van een goede kwaliteit (50Mp). De gebruikte chip (Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ ) is net niet de allersnelste, maar als gamen je ding is zal je het nauwelijks merken.
De prijs is $1000, wat toch zo'n $200 goedkoper is als een Samsung S23. Het geheugen van 512Mb is standaard en als je nog geen hardware-wallet had spaar je hier ook zo'n $80 (minimum).
Is dit de eerste stap naar een echte crypto industrie waarbij iedereen onmiddellijk toegang heeft tot deze snelgroeiende '"coin"-markt? Het is natuurlijk geen telefoon voor de gemiddelde koper, maar zelfs zonder het extra web3 element is het een robuust en goed werkende smartphone geschikt voor gewoon dagelijks gebruik.

Besluit; Wil je een goede robuuste smartphone waarmee je onderweg een nft kan minten, of crypto's kan kopen/verkopen EN je wil tegelijkertijd een hardware-wallet, dan is dit zeker het overwegen waard.
