My Presearch NODE (NL/EN)

Welke? Was de installatie moeilijk?

As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm excited about the Presearch search engine. I immediately set up a node for it.
What surprised me about the whole procedure is the simplicity of the installation, which will become clear a bit further in this post.
Since I have a VPS to run a witness node, and also have a lot of space left, there is no extra cost for me to purchase a new VPS.
To set up a node you need (minimum) 2000PRE, that is a condition.
Now that the crypto market is in a slump (some speak of a crash), now is THE time to buy my 2000PRE. I ended up getting 3000 because there is another way to generate additional PRE which is "Keyword staking ads" and I want to play around with that as well.
But first create an account with Presearch, that's a piece of cake, as with many websites you give your email address and choose a password.
On Kucoin I bought the necessary PRE tokens and transferred them to my stake wallet. The wallet address you need for the transfer is hided somewhat confusing under the button "Keyword Advertising" and then in that menu I had to choose "Transfert PRE" and in the next page I chose "From Blockchain" after which I was able to request my transfer address. This part was the hardest for me to find as a new member, this could be easier!

After logging in to Presearch I selected the node submenu via the menu. Here I found my registration code, I pasted this personal code in notepad to use it later in the procedure)
Below the registration code is a link to the setup instructions, after reading them carefully and several times I distilled what was important to me...the linux vps part.
All I needed was the installation script, which I pasted into the open notepad, where I replaced "$YOUR_REGISTRATION_CODE_HERE" with my personal registration code.
Now the script was ready to do its job on the server, time for the installation.

I logged into my already installed Ubuntu version of Linux on the server and opened a terminal window.
To make sure "Docker" was installed, which is what you need for the script to run, I ran the command "docker --version" and got the response "Docker version 20.10.7, build 20.10. 70ubuntu5~20.04.2" after which I could run the script with peace of mind.
The next step was to create a folder to place the node in.
Via the terminal I went to the relevant folder and via copy/paste I pasted the script in this directory. Now I was ready to install the node, I pressed "enter" and after a few minutes it was done.

The preparations took longer than the installation, what a relief. In the node's dashboard, which can be found via the menu, I could see that the node was working.
In the meantime, we are 4 days further and the average yield per day is just above 5 PRE. Not much, but if I convert that to a year, I get 1825 PRE. Let's assume the PRE remains stable and the server doesn't go down, I come to a non-cumulative return of 91.25% /year...not that bad I'd say.

If you don't have an account yet and you want to try the search engine yourself? Then use this link so you can acquire 25 PRE, just like me, so we both win.

Do you have experience with nodes? Which? Was the installation difficult?
