When I was a teenager we had a drum set at home that came to us as pawn but was never picked up. For me that was a great gift and I dreamed to become famous in a rock band. However, that never happened because I didn't practice enough with the wooden sticks...too many other hobbies. Occasionally my mother also took place behind the drums and cymbals to make some noise to vent her frustrations.

The other day I came across an online drum kit that is free to use. That immediately brought back great memories. Now I no longer have any ambitions to beat the drums while headbanging on stage to knock Cozy Powell off his throne.

As far as I know, Belgium does not have a well-known drum related band, but in the Netherlands "Slagerij van Kampen" has world fame. This band has given me goosebumps moments several times. For those who don't know them, see the video clip below the text.

You also often come across buskers who beat the soul out of their body somewhere in one or other shopping street on plastic and/or tin pots from which they actually perform a real melodic and good sounding musical work.

Other well-known percussion artists are the Yamato drummers from Japan, see video below the text.

Back to the online drum set... You can click on several drums, cymbals and other attributes so that you can make sounds on a certain rhythm by means of blocks. In this way you can compile a drum partition that can be used as accompaniment for a singer or musician. Putting together a drum solo seems rather difficult to me because it is about a loop, you can always try of course ...
The website is called Drummy and, as usual with the sites I suggest, is free to use, you don't even need to create an account or log in with your email address.
It all works quite intuitively, but you can of course also read the FAQ / manual first.
You can even share your latest homemade hit with a link.
