It was the continuation of this week’s premier league matchday action, as Man United who are really in a difficult situation in their top 4 race, locked horn against Everton away at Goodison Park, a game that ended in a shocker for Man United, receiving their biggest defeat this season.

This was a much-anticipated fixture for the Man United fans, as the they wanted to see their team get back to winning ways after their disappointing champions league exit and to keep pushing for top 4, but final outcome at the Goodison Park became a game that the United fan will want to forget in a hurry, as the loss now puts their top 4 chances hanging on a thin line.

Man United became rejuvenated during Solskjaer’s reign as an interim manager at the club, but everything is biggining to change and lots of doubts are now in the minds of some section of the fans, whether he is truly the right man to take the club to the next level. This fixture was a must-win game for Man United in their top 4 race, but this loss has put their chances on a thin line. Nevertheless, it is still possible to make top 4, but it all boils down to the results of the teams above them.

Everton has gotten lots of criticism this season for some of their poor performances, but they are beginning to pick up again and have gotten positive results in some of their toughest fixtures this season. The atmosphere at the Goodison Park was great, and the fans were lively and buzzing.

Everton lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation, while Man United lineup in a 4-3-3 formation. The game began and Everton were already looking hungry and taking the game to Man Man United, and were finally rewarded with an early goal, before going on to complete the annihilation.

Richarlison scored the first goal of many in the 13th minute, volleying in from close range in the box, to put his team in front very early in the game.

Sigurdsson got the second goal of the match in the 28th minute, rifling a powerful effort near the box, to beat De Gea at his near post.

Digne made it 3 in the 56th minute, releasing a half volley just outside the box to further increase their lead early in the second half.

Walcott completed the annihilation in the 64th minute, racing one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but was fast enough to slot the ball home. A goal that sent the whole home fans wild and filled with joy.

It was a very disappointing outing and result for Man United considering their status, but for Everton, this was a moment that will always be remembered. For Man United, this defeat is really bad for their top 4 race as it now puts them in an even more difficult position and has further reduced their chances. Nevertheless, the race is not over for them as there are still a couple of games left to play.
