Garden Surprises

I love going out to the garden and seeing certain flowers blooming for the first time the year, it is almost as if the garden gets a face-lift every time. So while walking to the vegetable garden I noticed that there were some succulents and and arum lilies in bloom which was a really lovely surprise.

But what I got in the vegetable garden was even a better surprise. My patty pans (which I normally struggle with) has really outdone themselves this year and I managed to harvest these wonderfully huge patty pans. At first I thought that they would be dry or bitter but on the contrary they were sweet and juicy, even when eaten raw in a salad.

I was so impressed and it was definitely worth the trouble of trying to get them to grow.
