Lives in the wild #3: Abyssinian

On the last episode on Lives in the wild, we were able to see the little documentary about the African Buffalo.

Before we proceed into today's topic, I will like to welcome you all once again to the wild.

Today's topic on "Lives in the wild", We will learn a little about the Abyssinian. A lovely cat that seems to be the origin of domestic cats

The Abyssinian

About the Abyssinian, its common name is Abyssinian and it is believed to originate from Egypt and it belongs to the cat family. Talking about wild cats, the Abyssinian is an average wild cat when it comes to body size. Its average body size in length is about 2ft with an average weight of 4.5kg. Life has its own limit and it is applicable to all living things. The Abyssinian has an average lifespan of 15 years. Curiousity has always been all cats problem and the Abyssinian is no exeption.

Physical characteristics:

This cute animal can be found in either of these different colors which are blue, red, fawn and grey. They have distinctive feature of silky fur and almond shaped eyes. The Abyssinian is a medium wild cat that has wide ears for alert.

Its head is wedge shaped with its chin vertically inclined on both side with its nose.


Distribution:

It is believed that Abyssinian originated from Ancient Egypt and spread wide to Ethopia. But presently, Abyssinian are bred in Great Britain.

Behavior:

Talking about intelligence, the Abyssinian is known to be very intelligent and curious. For a domestic kind of cat, the Abyssinian is extremely loyal and obidient and with the help of its active behaviour, Abyssinian are easy to train.

Breeding:

Abyssinians are sometimes believed to be the first wild cats that were abducted and trained as domestic cats. All domestic cazts were believed to be descendants of the Abyssinian. Presently, the Abyssinian are bred in the Great Britain.
