Visiting "Durdle Door" in Dorset England
This English coastal resort is quite unique, and nestled in the Dorset countryside. The exact location is on the South Coast of England. Specifically, on the jagged English Channel Coastline between England and France. This beautiful "horseshoe shaped" sandy bay is named locally as "Durdle Door".
The reason being is that there is a stone archway in the sea (see the second photo, on the left of the picture). The arch somewhat resembles an open door in the sea, which I would assume to be the most likely reason for the name.
About 30 years ago I first visited this place with my Wife when our three Children were quite young. Now my Daughter (an adult herself now) has just returned there with my Grand-Son to show him for the first time.
From what I understand after speaking to my Daughter Today, he enjoyed the trip there, but was exhausted from the extremely long steep walk back up the hill. I can confirm it is MEGA Steep indeed! 🤣
Anyway, please enjoy the following photos...
- All Photos Location: "Durdle Door", Dorset, England, United Kingdom 🇬🇧
- All photos (above) were taken by my Daughter with her Phone.
Some "Photo editing" was done by me in my Photoshop Software.
