1 week of HF4 - my thoughts

So it's been a while since HF4 has kicked in and I just wanted to mention my thoughts on it.

Big changes for sure

It has gotten a bit quieter around here now that there is no point in just posting for selfvotes sake. I am sure the people who are just here to line their pockets are still working away in the background claiming their staking rewards and building their accounts, sure why not. They can just do that and hope that those who are still active bring value to the tokens they accumulate. Maybe some will realise that it is within their power to also help the value of their investment grow by spreading some of it back to the community. But, that is up to them to do the maths and realise what brings value. I just hope they don't expect the ones who are still here building and helping others to listen to their tales of woe about the price. They may find 'The Little Red Hen' of interest.

Tipping

I'm still trying to get my head around this big change. I have blown my wad of tips daily but feel I am leaving many great creators out. Before the change I could upshare to the Value of 7.63 WLS but now I need to be more conservative as my staking rewards are only about 43 WLS so I have to make it spread further. I should probably be keeping some for myself but I have been well tipped by others in the community so it kind of balances out as I still try to build my account also. Not as good as before but I'm sure I am not alone in this. I think it is a good investment in the overall network if I continue to use my staking rewards to Tip others. Don't think for one minute I am doing this out of pure kindness but because I hope that by helping others believe their content is worthy of being rewarded it will attract others to join and help the price of Whaleshares grow for me also. Reciprocal Altruism is what i'll call it. This I believe is the new game we must play for Whaleshares to succeed.

There haven't really been many positives as yet in this new Whaleshares but I am willing to give it time and try to play my part.

Burned rewards

The burning of rewards from the previous two weeks took everyone by surprise and I really think it should have been announced before hand. But now that it is water under the bridge I don't mind too much. Burning tokens is always a good thing and since it affected everyone I'm OK with it.

Unclaimed Staking rewards

This is one thing that I am not too comfortable with. Did the Dev team not think that this would be a massive stick for their critics to hit them with? To send all unclaimed staking rewards to the Devfund Wallet in Liquid form.
I would have much preferred that it was burned or maybe divided up among active accounts that are trying to make this new system work. Giving it straight back to themselves has been a big sting to the community, lets be honest. My only hope is that they will put it towards promoting Whaleshares to the outside world and that it will be seen as an investment for everyone. Time will tell.

So there are my thoughts on the whole thing. I have yet to play around with pods too much or the other changes but I am sure with time they will become invaluable.

These are my honest opinions and just take them as that. I am still planning to be around and to try play my part in how all this pans out.To those who have supported me, thank you so much.
